A spritz traditionally has 2-3 parts. Certainly wine and bitters, and often bubbles. We started with a refreshing Pinot Grigio rose base – dry, but packed with summer berries. To this we added aromatic dry Italian vermouth, Campari and fresh pink grapefruit. Then came the extra special, bespoke addition.
We wanted to capture the essence of Hanami, the Japanese tradition of celebrating rebirth and the transient beauty of spring. So, over eight weeks, we micro-blended a 15 ingredient Cherry Blossom element compounded from flowers, spices and roots.
After hundreds of trials we had an evocative, ethereal original that bloomed from the glass. Just like spring.
